Canine Genetic Testing (CAGT) is a
brand-new canine DNA testing service based in the Department of
Veterinary Medicine at the University of Cambridge. Breeders and owners
are now able to order tests for the two known Shetland Sheepdog PRA
variants through the online booking system at
www.cagt.co.uk/
The cost for a single BBS2-PRA or
CNGA1-PRA test is £45. The cost for both tests ordered together as part
of the Shetland Sheepdog Bundle is £72. Further discounts are
automatically applied by CAGT during the checkout process to a basket of
tests for multiple dogs (for details see
www.cagt.co.uk/ufaq/do-you-offer-any-discounts/)
The English Shetland Sheepdog Club (ESSC)
is pleased to announce that it is offering additional discounts on PRA
testing to its members through the CAGT. For the first 3 dogs it will be
25% of the full test price, and 10% for any dogs thereafter. Please note
that for members who have already received the benefit of the Club’s
earlier discount scheme on 3 or more of their dogs, only the 10%
reduction will be available on further tests.
To take advantage of the ESSC members’
offer please contact Marion Withers at
bhc@essc.org.uk providing the following details:
1. Owner name(s)
2. Name(s) of dogs to be tested
3. Test(s) required for each dog (BBS2-PRA &/or CNGA1-PRA)
4. Contact email address
You will then be provided with a discount
code to add to your order at checkout, this should be active on CAGT’s
site within 24-48 hours of receiving the code.
